ACT GOODE SCHOLARSHIP

The annual Calvin C. Goode and Georgie M. Goode “ACT GOODE” Scholarship supports graduating seniors attending Phoenix-area high schools as they pursue higher education. The scholarship honors the legacy of Calvin C. Goode, who served 22 years on the Phoenix City Council, and his wife, Georgie, a dedicated educator. Together, they shared a lifelong commitment to education, service, and opportunity for young people.

Eligibility: Graduating High School Senior
Application Requirements: Minimum 2.5 GPA or higher, College Acceptance Letter, and Community Service Work

JACQUES AVENT SCHOLARSHIP

The Jacques Avent Scholarship Fund supports current African American college students pursuing careers in public service, with the goal of developing the next generation of senior managers and executives. The scholarship honors Jacques Avent, an NFBPA founder and the first African American to hold a senior executive position with the City of Phoenix, whose trailblazing leadership helped expand opportunities for African Americans in management and executive roles.
